| What I'll do is read only a few chapters at most when I read. If I read too much, I'll get bogged down and not be able to get anything out of it. Also, I'll read until something just speaks to me and then I think about it and write it down, then usually I'll read to the end of the chapter then I'll be done. That way, I can focus in on what I've gotten out of it and apply it in my day.
Hope that helps yall some! |

| Thats a great idea, what i find hard, is reading long passages, cause then i get distracted and my mind starts wondering away from what i'm reading to something i just read. I'll have to put your way cpowanab7 into practice and see how that works out _________________ Gaming RIG: VideoCard: BFG GeForce 9800GTX OC -Mobo: Asus P5N-T Deluxe 3-Way SLI nVidia nForce 780i SLI Chipset -Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz -Memory: OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Platinum 4GB 800MHz -PSU: Apevia Iceberg 680-Watt ==================================================================== Desktop: Processor-Intel Pentium 4 (2.4GHz) Ram-2GB DDR Kingston PSU-Logisys Micro ATX 350W OS-Windows Xp Pro SP3 MOBO-Gigabyte VideoCard-Geforce 7300GT

definitely will bro, altho now i have lots of studying to do, so i'll only be communicating to Christ through prayer ...but once exams finish, i'll definitely try your style of reading the Good Word _________________ Gaming RIG: VideoCard: BFG GeForce 9800GTX OC -Mobo: Asus P5N-T Deluxe 3-Way SLI nVidia nForce 780i SLI Chipset -Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz -Memory: OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 Vista Performance Platinum 4GB 800MHz -PSU: Apevia Iceberg 680-Watt ==================================================================== Desktop: Processor-Intel Pentium 4 (2.4GHz) Ram-2GB DDR Kingston PSU-Logisys Micro ATX 350W OS-Windows Xp Pro SP3 MOBO-Gigabyte VideoCard-Geforce 7300GT

| I think something I said in another thread applies here:
The Bible has a wonderful unity to it (after all, it has only one Author, in a certain sense)- if you don't understand the meaning of a certain passage, you will be able to gain insights by looking elsewhere in Scripture. Don't worry if the meaning of a passage isn't obvious, through prayer and pious reflection you will discover a thousand meanings, and you will be able to sort through the possible meanings more and more effectively the more you study the rest of the Bible and grow in holiness. |

| Very true, kinjion. Also, asking a leader to help in your understanding is another great way too, because they may even had to ask the same question or have some other awesome message to share with you about the verse(s). |

| The best way to read the bible in my opinion is to start in with the Gospels and then move up from there....The gospels are filled with Jesus' teachings and that is ultimutly what is most important...what the Lord has to say.....just my opinion. |
