| Ok i had seen the movie "The Mist" and i liked it, it was a good story, it was abit scary...so if u have a weak stomach, then i wouldn't recommend it lol. Well what i wanted to bring up, was a women, in the movie who was a "Christian" and simply preached and preached about the Bible, and tried to explain why all the events (in the movie ofcourse) were happening. Now i know i might be wrong to think this, but she was the most annoying person in the movie. I think this is a problem with how Christians are viewed, we are given this sterotypical image and it makes us look so bad. This movie made this Christian women not only look like a devilish preacher, but it basically depicted an annoying figure, and it simply knocked our faith and in a sum said whatever she was saying was just a bunch of crap.
I dunno if anyone else has seen this movie, but what are your opinions about this particular movie???

| Well i havn't seen it, but i KNOW that alot of people say that Christian's are just plain out mean people. Even my world history teacher spat that in my face knowing that i was a Christian. I just wanted to tell him that we are not, and not to say such a thing! But i just kept quiet.

| There is also another movie called "The Reaper"
it has to do with a town believing that this girl was a "perfect child" and has to be sacrificed to Satan because she was a perfect child. In the end, the girl was actually good- killing off the evil people, and told this Woman that he was about to give birth to Satan's child. It was a really good movie- you all should see it. It also has the plagues scenes in it.

| hmmm i haven't seen it yet, but i do know what you are talking about...Last semester at the university I go to, there was this lady on campus just preaching the bible and how everybody was going to hell and she was down right ridiculous, just the whole scene she was putting on. She was setting a bad example to how Christians should be and everybody standing around was just laughing at her. I'm a Christian, but even that annoyed me. | |

| yes...i totally understand you, christians need to realize and not make themselves look dumb. Like preaching like that, is just kinda creepy, and i think inapporiate. Telling people that they will go to hell if they don't believe, is basically putting down everyone elses religions, which we can't do that. | |

| First of all, you guys just stood by and watched as people mocked her for believing as she did? Pardon me, but wouldn't it be better if you had explained to her why she was wrong, perhaps help guide her back on path? Instead of just standing there and watching? If nothing else you could have asked to have a word with her in private so you wouldn't have to explain things to her in front of everybody else!
Secondly, I get what you're saying Vash. Same thing happens in another movie, called "Sunshine" where basically there is this insane Christian captain, who thinks god told him to bring all of humanity to heaven, by killing them....This is definately a problem, but the best thing we really can do about it, is proving to people, through our way of life, that Christians aren't insane people!
On the other hand there are also movies that present Christians in a good way... I don't know if anyone of you have seen the series "Firefly", they were cancelled after 13 episodes for unknown reasons. Trust me they weren't cancelled for being bad, because it was an excellent series, my favorite so far. The "Serenity" movie, is a spin-off from this series! Anyways. In said series theres a "Shepherd" (something similar to a priest) who flies with the main crew of a space ship called "Serenity", and he's actually presented as one of the more sane, considerate and smart members of the crew. For not to mention the fact that he keeps the moral up!
