Here is a thred where you can ask me anything about windows computers and i will answer.

Give me all the known quick short cuts on the keyboard to getting around on the desktop or simply opening, closing programs

(NOTE- i don't really use hotkeys. I get everyware faster with my mouse- so i will do my best. I do better with more advanced questions)

Alt tab: allows you to cycle through The windows with a dorky looking bar.
Alt esc: brings up the next open window
Alt F4: closes the open window
Ctr, Alt "key" : allows you to set hotkeys.

I COULD keep going- but there are too many hotkeys. And since most can be changed- it's a bad question to ask.

and a side note, ctrl + enter for the www. and the .com is my most over used out of all of these for the net

Windows Keyboard Shortcuts:
• CTRL + C: Copy
• CTRL + X: Cut
• CTRL + V: Paste
• CTRL + Z: Undo
• CTRL + B: Bold
• CTRL + U: Underline
• CTRL + I: Italic
• CTRL + A: Select All
• ALT + F4: Quit a program /shut down
• ALT + TAB: Switch between open programs SHIFT + TAB: Tab backwards through a form
• ALT + underlined letter in menu: Opens the menu
• CTRL + ESC: Open Start menu
• F1: Open Windows Help menu
• F2: Rename a file
• F3: Find all files
• SHIFT + RESTART: To restart Windows and not your whole computer, hold down the SHIFT key when you click the OK button on the Shut Down screen. This will save a lot of time.
• Windows key + D: Show the Desktop (minimizes all open windows)
• Windows key + M: Minimize all windows
• Windows key + SHIFT + M: Undo minimize all windows
• CTRL while dragging a file: copy the file
• CTRL + SHIFT while dragging a file: Create shortcut to file

Internet Explorer Shortcuts:
• CTRL + ENTER: Adds “www” and “.com”
• CTRL + D: Adds the current page to your favorites
• F4: Displays a list of Web addresses (URL’s) that you’ve typed
• CTRL + F: Find on this page
• ALT + HOME: Go to your Home Page
• CTRL + N: Open a new window
• CTRL + I: Open the Favorites bar
• CTRL + H: Open the History Bar
• F5 or CTRL + R: Refresh the current Web page
• CTRL + S: Save the current page
• ALT + D: Select the text in the Address bar
• ESC: Stop downloading the page
• ALT + Plus: Zoom in
• ALT + Minus: Zoom out
• ALT + Back Arrow: Go back
• ALT + Forward Arrow: Go forward

lol...yeah he probably did, but no worries cause thats informative to know .

Alright...next question, how can you access the cpu overclocking from the desktop, or if you can't, what ways can you overclock the cpu or graphics card.

Hmmmm....... Since my graphics card is sooooooo old that i can't overclock it i will have to say that i would use WINNER TWEAK 2 and enable the overclock section in the graphics card menu


To overclock the CPU- i would use Speedfan. Just google it for more info. It also shows you temprature and allows you to change fan speeds.


Then if that does not work- use the BIOS. It's usualy accessed by pressing F1 at startup. Your computer should tell you how to get to it. Then there may (depending on the motherboard and BIOS) be a option in there someware. It changes from maker to maker.

Then there should be 2 options- one CPU multiplyer and FB speed. Change them.


Note: i did NOT use google or any other thing but my brain to figure this out- and i have only overclocked 1 computer and it was a 350 MHZ

What are, ways...or places...to be able to add or modify themes for the OS. So perhaps i wanted a Mac theme, what are the best ways, without slowing down my computer much...to do this?

Hmmmm............ I have used windowblinds and that program allows you to change anything for the look.

Right now though- i am using the Vista Transformation pack- and it gives me a computer that looks like vista.


But i don't really do the whole skinning thing- since my computer is just fast enough for XP- let alone much else

I compiled a list of commands a while back and saved it on a word document, so the most looking up I did was through my documents lol

Anything I do with computers, I usually save in some form or another. I actually wrote a program to play blackjack (along with other various programs) using C haha.

nice cpowanab7, its good to keep a track of the things u accomplish on computers, cause we won't remember everything

I did HTML, JavaScript, and CSS in high school. I just finished C Programming in my first semester in College. I still have to take Systems Software, Computer Architecture, Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Discrete Computational Structures, Object Oriented Programming, and a few others XD

Ah...... well- i'm fastracking VET Info tech Cet 2 and 3. Usualy- only yr 11 and 12 can do VET- but i am a yr 10 and i can.

I want to do Computer/Internet Security type stuff...then eventually teach math at a university level...I want to get my Doctorate's in Math, so that'll be fun XD

i know what thats like lol...and its even worse when the teacher doesn't even know how to teach math to make it understandable, and simply teaches it all over the place, its nice to learn one concept before starting a new one in the same lesson lol
